CLEAN COAL DOES NOT EXIST, it’s like hunting Unicorns – a very bad fantasy. The Big Utilities and coal lobbyists however continue to plot, invest, and market, these non-existent clean coal technologies. Coal will never be a clean renewable resource and promoting coal fired power plants WILL NOT curb global warming.
Coal-fired power plants are one of our nation's largest and dirtiest sources of energy. There are readily available alternatives to coal that can meet our energy needs, save money, boost our economy, create jobs, improve public health, and combat atmospheric deterioration.
Know where your power comes from and demand a clean alternative when your utility is silently shoving coal into your home or business.
Stay up to date on all of the developments in coal proliferation. Here at the Coal Watch page you can find all of the news you need to get the REAL FACTS about coal and the development of mythical "clean" coal. Check back regularly for updates on legislation and any relevant activity.
Heeyyy….Did you know the California cities of Anaheim, Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Riverside, and Los Angeles all own a stake in the Intermountain Power Agency (Utah) and that the majority of its power goes to just six California public power companies?!? The printed dirt is here.
AND while we’re at it, a little birdie found this juicy secret on page 18 about Pasadena’s power mix.
What’s up with California utilities leaving their skeletons in other states’ closets hmm? Sounds like a bad case of NIMBY to us. (fyi: Not In My Back Yard)

Let's be clear: there are no US homes, factories, shopping centers or churches powered by coal plants that capture and store their global warming pollution. more. |
